Occupation: Actress Instagram: @AdinaPorter
Where were you born?
I am a New Yorker. I grew up in the South Bronx.
Where do you live now?
I reside in Los Angeles now.
In one sentence what is unique about your work?
I very much appreciate getting to pretend for a living.
Why do you do what you do?
I love exploring the human condition. I am fascinated with why and how we humans make the life choices that we do. I love finding different characters within myself. I feel very privileged to be able to pay my bills doing this.
What inspires you?
Being and doing my personal best inspires me. I am also very competitive. Now that I am a mother, I am consciously aware that my children are looking to me for guidance. I take that responsibility seriously, and that too inspires me.
Describe your personal style
I enjoy muted sun drenched colors. I like African style with European tailoring. I like my home and outfits to look effortless and be comfortable, but with style. Fabrics and draping all being thought over and well selected. I love how wearing black...even when its sweatpants, they still appear formal.
Your ultimate must-have
My must have is a Neti Pot.
What superpower would you like to have and why?
I wouldn't mind having the power to erase memories. It takes so much work for me -- and I think many others -- to forgive, forget or let go. It would be much easier to erase thoughts and habits that no longer serve a purpose.
What is next for you?
You will see me on ABC's “The Catch” in a few weeks. “The 100” has earned a 4th season from The CW, so you will probably see me there too.I will also be seen in a feature film next year called “The Last Word” with the amazing Shirley MacLaine. There might be a few other shows, but I don't wish to jinx anything :-)
REBELS WITHOUT A CAUSE
Actress Anne Hathaway proved fashion doesn't always have to come at a price
It's that time of the year again when your favorite stars hit the desert for Coachella's two-weekend music festival.
Just imagine all the things you could do, places you could go and people you could meet by walking in someone else's shoes at will.
I believe in the potential of film to bring about social change, and that has become the guiding principle in everything I do.
My creations aim to focus on the positive side of life and to promote focusing in solutions.
