EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT LADY GAGA SUPER BOWL 2017

Gaga blew the roof off NRG Stadium for reals. The pop superstar opened her epic halftime set by singing "God Bless America" on the roof of the Super Bowl stadium before vaulting out into the night and landing on her elaborate stage. We all wondered, would she get political during the biggest sporting event in the world?

So Lady Gaga opened her act with a rendition of Woody Guthrie’s “This Land Is Your Land,” which has become a popular anthem at rallies protesting President Trump across the country for her Super Bowl performance that spanned her entire discography.

*This land is your land This land is my land From California to the New York island; From the red wood forest to the Gulf Stream waters This land was made for you and Me.

As I was walking that ribbon of highway, I saw above me that endless skyway: I saw below me that golden valley: This land was made for you and me. I've roamed and rambled and I followed my footsteps To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts; And all around me a voice was sounding: This land was made for you and me.

When the sun came shining, and I was strolling, And the wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling, As the fog was lifting a voice was chanting: This land was made for you and me.

As I went walking I saw a sign there And on the sign it said "No Trespassing." But on the other side it didn't say nothing, That side was made for you and me.

In the shadow of the steeple I saw my people, By the relief office I seen my people; As they stood there hungry, I stood there asking Is this land made for you and me?

Nobody living can ever stop me, As I go walking that freedom highway; Nobody living can ever make me turn back This land was made for you and me.* Gaga flew from the ceiling to perform “Poker Face” atop a giant tower. No, Beyonce did not show up for "Telephone" , but Gaga did “Born this Way,” joined by her little monsters dancers. She sat at the piano for “A Million Reasons,” then changed costumes and rejoined her dancers for “Bad Romance.” There were fireworks, drones, and just to reiterate, a flying Lady Gaga.

According to Vanity Fair, Guthrie’s son, Arlo, Woody wrote the song in anger as a response to “God Bless America,” written by Irving Berlin, which Guthrie hated. We don’t often sing the latter, angrier verses of This Land in schools—nor did Gaga during the show.

Bet ya Gaga no doubt knew exactly what she was doing when she picked that song to open her performance.

Taylor Kinney Was Cheering On His Ex At The Super Bowl. The couple may have called off their engagement back in 2016, but they're still out supporting one another, as evidenced by Kinney's appearance at the Super Bowl yesterday.

Celebrity life is not about body shamers. As Gaga rocked her way across the stage in a crop top and silver shorts, the 30-year-old’s apparent “belly” became a buzzing subject for some social media users — stealing the limelight from her stellar performance.

In a news conference held before the game, Gaga was asked if her performance would unify the country. She replied, “You’ll have to ask America when it’s over.” So, America, what do you think?
