Occupation: Fashion Illustrator Instagram: @roya_so_artsy Where were you born? The Pacific Northwest, based in Seattle. In one sentence what is unique about your work? Perfect is boring. Why do you do what you do? Life really is about the pursuit of happiness. I'm an artist because drawing, painting and or experimenting with new mediums make me insanely happy. Being an artist was a hobby before it was my full time job. I think it's important for everyone to have something they can strongly identify with as an individual. What inspires you? The community of artists that I'm connected with on social media. We are constantly collaborating and inspiring each other! Describe your personal style. Effortless & casual. I definitely prefer sneakers over high heels. My go-to outfit would probably be either leggings or a distressed pair of jeans, sneakers or my Timberlands, and flannel. I love cutoff shorts and a soft t-shirt. I don't like accessorizing because it stresses me out. I'm pretty laid-back. Your ultimate must-have: The gal that does my eyebrows. She's a true artist. I've been with her for 5 years now. She's taught me that good brows are really the prime real estate of the face! I take good eyebrows very seriously! I can't live without her. What superpower would you have and why? To teleport hands down. It would be nice to snap my fingers and be on a secluded island for a day. Maybe spend a weekend in Paris just eating good food. I could also see everyone that I love whenever I wanted. My brother lives in Sydney and I wish we could hang out.Best part? No airfare! What is next for you? I have a show in March. Otherwise, no idea. I've learned to never really set plans, just to follow my gut on whatever opportunity presents itself. It's gotten me this far!
I know macro trends and the connection between macro trends and fashion. Feminism and multiculturalism are one of those macro trends which I demonstrate in my art.
