Occupation: Fashion illustrator Instagram: @MayaBeus Where were you born? I was born Croatia, and even though I prefer other countries I seem to come back here every once in a while. In one sentence what is unique about your work? Whatever is unique about me is unique about my work. Why do you do what you do? This is the only thing I ever wanted to do. What inspires you? Everything. I agree with Grace Coddington here. Inspiration is everywhere. Describe your personal style. This depends on what phase I am in. If I’m in the studio with deadlines and completely in work mode then it’s athleisure. The reason is at times I work 15 hour days so I do yoga in my studio. I also try to incorporate different excesses during the day (I am a bit paranoid about long term effects of long sitting hours so I try to break up the hours as much as I can). Other times it’s a lot of block color, color clashing, accentuating the positives (legs), downplaying the not so great (mostly no tank tops ;-)) Your ultimate must-have. Great foundation, a big leather bag to hold my sketchbook and iPad and a pair of sparkly shoes What superpower would you have and why? Flying. Because obviously. :-) What is next for you? Just finishing up a big exhibition, so hopefully a bit of rest once that’s done. But as soon as I catch my breath, hopefully more wonderful work
