MICHAEL KORS ACQUIRES JIMMY CHOO FOR $1.2 BILLION

LONDON — Michael Kors is a fan of Jimmy Choo and so it acquired the company for $1.2 billion. Its chief executive officers calls this the first step in building a bigger international luxury group.

Jimmy Choo will continue to function "as it does today" with Pierre Denis as CEO and Sandra Choi as creative director, so don't expect any big changes in the company or its designs.

The trends and collaborations at places like H&M and Zara, Gucci, LV & Supreme helping the brands grow. Michael Kors, once a leader of the runway, is turning for help from Princess Diana and the “Sex and the City” star Sarah Jessica Parker who made Choos favorite on every girl's list.
