In Honor Of Faye Dunaway's 79th Birthday

If we were to ask everyone who the best living actress in Hollywood is, there will be a few to name and one woman who would undoubtedly receive a lot of votes would be Faye Dunaway.

Dorothy Faye Dunaway has won an Academy Award, three Golden Globes, a BAFTA, and an Emmy, and was the first recipient of a Leopard Club Award that honors film professionals whose work has left a mark on the collective imagination. Above all, she is a true style icon and today, as we celebrate Faye’s birthday.

Contrary to other women who starred with Warren Beatty, Dunway chose to keep things platonic.

Dunaway has been married twice, both times for less than six years. Her first husband was American musician Peter Wolf. They were married from 1974 until 1979. Her second husband was British photographer Terry O’Neill, the father of her only child. They were married from 1983 until 1987.

As of 2019, Dunaway has been nominated for three Oscars. They were, in chronological order, for the films Bonnie and ClydeChinatown, and Network. She only won once, the Best Actress statue for Network.

In 1975, Dunaway appeared opposite Robert Redford in Three Days of the Condor. American political thriller film directed by Sydney Pollack. The story features Dunaway’s character being held hostage by Redford’s character, and she is meant to be in fear of being violated or killed. This was particularly challenging for the actress as she joked that the idea of being kidnapped by someone like Redford was “anything but frightening.”

Faye Dunaway attended and graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in theater. After finishing at the University of Florida, she transferred to Boston University’s School of Fine and Applied Arts. She finished her education in 1962.

Faye Dunaway was first married to Peter Wolf in 1974. However, the couple later divorced in 1979. She married again in 1983 to Terry O’Neill. Together, this couple had a son, Liam. However, this couple too divorced in 1987. As of 2017, she has not remarried.
