While traipsing throughSaks Fifth Avenue with my better half, I discovered Alexis Bittar and like any other girl, I wandered over to the jewelry section, where case upon case of jewelry was displayed, twinkling and glistening in the lights of the department store. Browsing, I looked over large metallic cuffs, clunky necklaces, and royal looking earrings, no, no, none of these were me. Suddenly, a faint purple stone caught my eye and I knew I had to have them. With my special piece of Alexis Bittar jewelry in hand, I just had to see more of his work for myself.
Bittar announced his Fine Collection in 2015, a grouping of necklaces, rings, drop & stud earrings, and cuffs & tennis bracelets that include a gorgeous selection of quartz, marquise, aquamarine and sapphire. Designer wanted to create a look that put a twist on what “fashion fine” means in the line of jewelry and thus formulated one that embodies the grace of a woman from the 50’s, with the fiery attitude of a 90’s punk:
“It shouldn’t be taken so seriously as often as fine jewelry can be, it should come out for more than just special occasions.”
