Oscar De La Renta Retrospective @ de Young Museum

San Francisco welcomes the first ever Oscar De La Renta Retrospective at the de Young Museum curated by none other than Mr. De La Renta’s good friend, former Editor-at-large of Vogue, André Leon Talley. With a careful selection of enthralling pieces pulled from both archives and friends’ collections spanning over a period of more than five decades, this is an exhibit for the ages!

Just two months before his passing, Mr. De La Renta gave his permission to Diane B. Wilsey, President of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, to have a retrospective of his work in San Francisco, which is why we are lucky enough to be the first city to witness this impressive and enchanting collection.

With galleries built around major inspirations in Mr. De La Renta’s life such as the “Spanish” & “Eastern” influences, “Gardens”, and more, the exhibit gives us a thorough look at what compelled his vision. Mr. De La Renta started his career in Spain with Cristobal Balenciaga and throughout his life continued to be inspired bythe Spanish world of art as well as bullfighting.

When asked what André Leon Talley thinks separates Oscar De La Renta from his contemporaries during a Q & A session, Talley expressed that it was Mr. De La Renta’s utter respect for his clients—the women he dressed and the woman’s body that set him aside from the rest of the designers.

With everything from Sarah Jessica Parker and Taylor Swift’s dazzling Met Ball gowns on display to a coat from Diana Vreeland’s collection, this retrospective honors Oscar De La Renta in a completely rich way that leaves viewers in a magnificent daze.

Leonardo DiCaprio takes home his first Oscar

It's been 84 years... That's how Titanic's Rose Dewitt Bukater started her story about how she met Jack Dawson. It's felt equally long for Leonardo DiCaprio to finally receive his award for best actor for his role in The Revenant.

DiCaprio, who was robbed of Oscar in 1994 for What's Eating Gilbert Grape when he was just 20 years old, then three more times for 2004's The Aviator, 2006's Blood Diamond and in 2013 for The Wolf Of Wall Street, remained calm. In fact , his speech was a perfect example of what a intelligent, smart man he really is. Instead of using his prime time to perhaps criticize the academy for taking way, way too long, he used it to bring awareness to Global environmental problem.

Did he intentionally flipped the academy or was it coincidental we'll probably never know, but if he meant to, then #sorrywerenotsorryBecause he rocks with talent and with speaking truth to power #LeoForPresident

Congratulations Pierre Hardy for receiving la legion d'honneur

Designer Pierre Hardy is receiving a highest honor iin France. Hermes artistic director Pierre-Alexis Dumas will present the award at a small ceremony at Hermès flagship in Paris.

“Actually, I’m the one receiving the honor, but the reasons for which I’m receiving it are not just about me,” the designer told Vogue.com. “It’s a little too much because my work is hardly a solitary endeavor. I’ve been working with the same people for a long time—they’ve become friends, so this gives me the chance to share it with them, too.”

Bowie Themed party for Kate Moss's 42nd birthday

Kate Moss celebrated her 42nd birthday with a tribute to her late friend, David Bowie who passed away just days before her birthday. A private themed birthday took place at Kate's home in the Cotswolds with guests channeling their inner Bowie and '80s attire.  Boy George performed at the party tweeting next morning:

Had a lovely night in the Cotswolds celebrating Kate Moss’s birthday and dancing to classic Bowie. In fact her birthday was a Bowie tribute!

Golden Globes 2016 Best Dressed

With each award show comes many things. There's always a scandal, always a mistake, lots of fake laughter, and of course, many awards and very long acceptance speeches. With all of these factors being relatively standard, Fashion is the one thing we can count on to really keep us watching. Here we have it ladies and gents: The Golden Globes Best Dressed.

Olivia Wilde

It doesn't take much for actress Olivia Wilde to be the center of attention, but she definitely was a show stopper in this sequin maroon Michael Kors. I especially admire the way the entire look came together. Wilde's hair, makeup, and accessories really contribute to her rather secure Best Dressed slot.

Lady Gaga

When you sing, act, AND make the best dressed list.. HOW?!  Gaga is a vision in this elegant, waist extenuating Versace gown. This Old Hollywood feel was the perfect choice for her acting debut. Way to rock everything you do girl!

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

This Versace gown was absolutely perfect for this already stunning model. Rosie effortlessly glowed with this look. My favorite accessory? The much talked about rock on her ring finger..

Jaimie Alexander

Jaimie Alexander definitely turned heads with this gorgeous Genny gown. Even though the plunging neckline seemed to be a popular trend on the red carpet, she found her way to stand out by sporting the beautiful emerald pattern. ps: love the pockets.

Jennifer Lawrence

Typically speaking, this Hunger Games beauty is usually remembered for a fall or a slip up at an awards show; however, J-Law shut it down in this scarlet Dior! Everything about this dress is perfection: the diamond collar, the silhouette, the cutouts...amazing. I can't get enough of it.
