Winter Wonderland at Chanel - Farewell to Karl Lagerfeld

Chanel opened with a minute’s silence for the late designer Karl Lagerfeld in Paris on Tuesday to remember his 35 years as the creative force behind the French couture house. This collection was Karl’s ode to alpine chic.

After a minute of silence one of Lagerfeld’s favorite muses Cara Delevingne opened the runway in a black-and-white houndstooth coat followed by a slew of Chanel classics tweaked for the apres-ski set: long sweeping tweed overcoats, pleated pants and chunky ski boots.

The show closed with a surprise appearance by Penelope Cruz carrying single white rose, Karl’s muse Kaia Gerber and a heavenly parade of models in powdery white.
