Paris, the epicenter of the industry of Fashion, the heart of exclusive ateliers and unique techniques is a hard to approach place for young designers, but a dream to many.
Starting this September, it becomes a bit easier as Saint Laurent announced a new training program where a number of students from Institut Français de la Mode and the Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne ( whose alumni include Yves Saint Laurent himself) will have the opportunity to learn trade secrets and techniques directly from Saint Laurent staff from the house's couture division.
Saint Laurent’s president and CEO Francesca Bellettini explained, "Preserving our heritage while evolving and being very relevant in our epoca is a pillar of our strategy, and investing in talents is an imperative condition to build on our success even further,” he said. "I am very proud of this partnership with such renowned and prestigious institutions as the IFM and ECSCP, which will greatly contribute to the implementation of our strategy."
New collection presentation takes place in Venice.
