Looks like the big-name brands have been trying to one-up each other every year by taking their collections somewhere exotic. The French house's cruise 2017 is set to take place in Havana, Cuba on May 3, 2016
According to a release from Chanel, the "cultural richness and opening up of Cuba" has long inspired Lagerfeld, and if his past collections are any indication, there will certainly be plenty of the country's lively, colorful flavor injected into the clothing. Surely clothing from Chanel is only affordable to the rich population of Cuba. But not many may know that Cuba was huge in the fashion world before Fidel Castro. After fashion shows in Paris, collection would show in Cuba the same day.
We can't wait to see how Karl Lagerfeld handles this one, but for now take a dive back into 30s, 40s, 50s cutting edge fashion in Cuba.
