First Lady Michelle Obama Wears Brandon Maxwell Gown To State Dinner

First lady Michelle Obama support local fashion designers once again, this time wearing custom made Brandon Maxwell gown to State Dinner on Tuesday night. FLOTUS and POTUS honored Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore and his wife Ho Ching at the State dinner. Maxwell debuted his line at New York Fashion Week last September and already took the fashion world by the storm.

Maxwell wrote on his Instagram " I'm not one to usually speak about politics and I believe in everyone's right to support the candidate of their choice, but tonight is particularly special for me. I spent my first year out of college campaigning on a bus for Barack Obama during the 2008 election. I believed fully in what he stood for, as I still do today. Mrs. Obama was always, and still is, the the definition of grace and intelligence to me, and I am so blessed and thankful to have had the opportunity to dress her during her time in The White House, and grateful for the good people that have helped me arrive at this moment in my life. ❤️"

Maxwell is best known for styling Lady Gaga. Already today he 2016 LVMH Prize and Swarovski Award for Womenswear at the 2016 CFDA Awards.

It’s a thumbs up for me too! Thrilled and honored to dress a woman that represents the good of this nation, and who has done so much for the young women that inhabit it. It was my honor.
