Cape Town; South Africa In one sentence what is unique about your work? Intricate aesthetically devised apparel. Why do you do what you do? Since a young age I fell in love with collecting ‘unbeautiful’ and strange things; which then developed into a process of sketching these objects / ideas in different ways. I became interested in following a career in fashion as I saw it as a way to take my sketches to an actual tangible state and give them a functional purpose. I then decided to complete a BA (Honours) in fashion to learn the skill – and… the love for the stranger things in life has never left me, which I now translate into fashion. Thus love has also progressed to a responsibility of showcasing South African fashion in a contemporary manner. What inspires you? Stranger unbeautiful everyday objects; nature and life forms as well as social issues. Describe your personal style. Minimalist ‘unconventionalist’. Your ultimate must-have. Well tailored coat and brogues. What superpower would you have and why? Teleportation; to avail me to see the world at glance. What is next for you? Spring/Summer 2016/17 Continuing the strive to grow the South African Fashion landscape and represent South African Fashion globally in a contemporary manner.
