Occupation: Conceptual designer Instagram: Nicolas Destino Where were you born? I was born in Mouscron, It’s a small town in Belgium, not far from France. In one sentence what is unique about your work? The conceptualization of the design. Why do you do what you do? In order to translate and materialize my thoughts. I have always felt a need to express ideas I have in my mind. My studies have helped me discover some materials and my work has enabled me to get an accurate understanding of new materials. I like moving forward, creating new things, meeting my personal needs as well as other people’s needs. What inspires you? Anything which represents a concept that is strong enough to me. It could be an environment, an atmosphere, a style, a color, a feeling. Actually, things come by themselves to my mind. I only have to translate them. Describe your personal style. I would describe my work as uncluttered, minimalist, sober and geometric. The objects I create gravitate between concept and function, It depends on the project. Your ultimate must-have. My bed. What superpower would you have and why? I would like to be able to penetrate people's minds and to read their thoughts What is next for you? It's a personal project, it consists in a new series of objects concerning fashion. Fashion has always fascinated me and I want to adapt it to my universe. For now a series of three objects are being manufactured by different craftsmen and should soon be presented to the public.
