Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne Leave DKNY

DKNY Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, co-creative directors of DKNY are stepping down after running the brand for less than two years. The duo said in the public statement that their decision was influenced by the label being sold to G-III earlier this year.

"Given the company sale and subsequent change in strategies, we have decided to step down and focus on our own business Public School," Chow and Osborne wrote. "It's been an unbelievable experience to work side by side with the wonderful people at DKNY, especially our amazing design team and atelier. We wish the company success in the future."

In 2015, DKNY founder Donna Karan left the brand and Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne took over. LVMH ultimately sold Donna Karan International DKNY to G-III in July for $650 million due to costs.

And after years of trying to cut costs by restructuring Donna Karan and pulling lines like DK Jeans and DKNYC, LVMH ultimately sold Donna Karan International DKNY to G-III in July for $650 million.

Chow and Osbornse opened up DKNY Spring 2017 show with Bella Hadid. They brought a new ideas to the brand, but it created a confusion around DKNY's aesthetic.
