MICHELLE YEOH IS BALENCIAGA’S NEW AMBASSADOR
Michelle Yeoh achieved a milestone in her career this year by securing the title of the first Asian to win the Best Actress Oscar for her outstanding performance in "Everything Everywhere All at Once." In addition to this prestigious accolade, the Malaysian-born actress also clinched a Golden Globe and a SAG Award in 2023. Renowned for her roles in films such as "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," "Memoirs of a Geisha," and "Crazy Rich Asians," Yeoh has left an indelible mark on the cinematic landscape. Notably, she graced the screens as a Bond girl in the 1997 film "Tomorrow Never Dies."
Adding to her list of achievements, Yeoh concludes the year in a glamorous fashion as she takes on the role of ambassador for the Paris-based fashion house Balenciaga. In expressing her enthusiasm for this partnership, Yeoh stated, "I am delighted to join Balenciaga as a brand ambassador. For me, fashion is an art form. It’s not just about a dress; it’s about self-expression, how you feel in it, and the values you embody when you wear it; it’s a way of communicating my work and who I am to the world."
To mark Yeoh's ambassadorial role, Balenciaga enlisted the talents of British documentary photographer Platon. Renowned for capturing the essence of prominent, fashionable, and revolutionary personalities, Platon has previously worked with Balenciaga's ambassadors, including French actress Isabelle Huppert and Thai actor and model PP Krit Amnuaydechkorn.
