THIRD ANNUAL MISS RUSSIAN SAN FRANCISCO

Third annual Miss Russian San Francisco took place at the historical Fairmont ballroom, in San Francisco. The event schedule kicked off last week with a drinks reception. Nine contestants fought for the title of Miss Russian San Francisco. Among the judges were notable Russian celebrities and local business owners. 
The evening was filled with beautiful, talented woman showing the judges videos highlighting their achievements. Contestants showcased modeling skills in glittering dresses and everyone's most anticipated, swimsuit. In between the show guests enjoyed traditional Russian dance, ballroom dance and opera singing performance.

Event organized by Karina Zakharov supported fundphoenix.org in the Far East to help bring technology for park and wildlife protection with Global Park Defense, specifically Russian Amur Tiger conservation and protection. Zakharov's vision is to empower Russian-speaking women to be able to face challenges of life with grace, beauty and style. She is committed to unite the entire community of expats from numerous Russian speaking countries and celebrate the richness and zest of Russian culture. Karina's mission goes beyond celebration of beauty - it is also about raising funds for the causes she believes in.

1st place and a title of Miss Russian San Francisco 2017 went to Maria Joukovskaya born in Krasnodar, south of Russia. Maria is a professional International Ballroom Dancer. She graduated from Kuban State University in 2006, majoring in World Economy. Maria is a founder of dance school teaching Social and Ballroom International styles for kids and adults. She's been the choreographer for the Equinox Salsa Team and worked for TV show 'Dancing with the Stars'.

2nd runner up Almaty, Kazakhstan native, Akmaral Duisenbekkyzy.  Akmaral graduated from Kazakh National University with a specialization in Government and Local Administration. In Kazakhstan, she was socially active, especially in endurance cycling. Akmaral was Miss Cycling Sport in 2012, and went on to become Miss Sport in the 2012 Miss Kazakhstan beauty contest. In the same contest, she ranked first in an online poll run by independent website VoxPopuli, and was among the top 10 finalists in the Miss Kazakhstan beauty contest. She has experience in the charity organization Bota Foundation, which was supervised by World Bank and worked closely with international institutions such as the UN, Save the Children, and IREX. The Foundation’s mission was to improve the lives of vulnerable children and youth suffering from poverty in Kazakhstan through investment in their health, education, and social welfare.

3rd runner-up Diana Golyadkinawas born in Donetsk, Ukraine. Diana is double-majored in Journalistic and Physical education. She is a World and European champion in Modern Pentathlon, former member of Ukrainian National Team. Sport career became her profession, Diana is a fitness coach now helping people to be healthier and hit their body goals. She believes that everyone must be happy and enjoy every minute of the life to create a best version of himself.
